3. What propelled you to start your business?: I’ve always been passionate about dance and storytelling since I was in high school . After choreographing my cousin sister’s wedding, I saw the joy it brought them and their guests. I realized I wanted to help create those unforgettable moments for more couples, making their special day truly unforgettable.
4. What drives you or motivates you?:The happiness and confidence that I see on each and every couple’s face when they nail their first dance togther, knowing I played a part in making their wedding day unforgettable, motivates me to continue creating magical moments for more couples.
5. What do you enjoy the most about this industry?: I love the creative expression and storytelling through dance. Witnessing a couple’s love story come alive through choreography is truly magical. Plus, being part of a wedding celebration is always a thrill considering the energy, the joy, and the love that comes with it.
6. What is the highlight of your business journey to date?:My highlight was crafting a custom routine for a couple who thought they couldn’t dance together because they had never done it before. Seeing them excuting it well on the wedding day, with newfound confidence, was truly heartwarming for me, and it still inspires me to do more up till now.
7. How did you start your business?:The passion that I have for dance and storytelling led me to start my wedding choreography business. I began by offering services to friends and family, and some of their referrals helped me grow. I’ve since had the privilege of working with numerous couples, each with their unique love story.
8. What makes you stand apart from the rest of the people providing similar services/products?: My unique blend of experience in various dance styles, attention to detail, and ability to understand each couple’s love story sets me apart. I take the time to get to know my clients, tailoring routines that not only showcase their personalities but also complement their wedding vision. To choreograph wedding dances is more than just dance to me. It’s a moment that will be etched in your memories forever, I will be honoured to be a part of it. I always want to create a customized, romantic dance that exceeds every couple’s expectations and make their wedding day even more magical.
9. Any advice for couples planning their special days?:Seeing the bride and groom dance at their wedding is one of the most beautiful things at every wedding. Don’t invest in a Choreographer for the bridal party only….Invest in a Choreographer who will also create a memorable experience for the bride and groom.
10. Any advice for aspiring wedding vendors who might want to follow in your footsteps?: Always remember why you started. For me, it’s about the joy of storytelling through dance. Stay true to that passion, and continually work on honouring your craft. Build meaningful connections with your clients. It’s not just about teaching steps but understanding their love story. Lastly, stay inspired, attend workshops, learn from others, and keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in wedding choreography.
11. How do you unwind after a busy period?: Unwinding after a busy period is essential. For me, it’s about taking a step back, breathing, and reconnecting with nature. I love relaxing with my friends, chatting about other areas of life, or simply enjoying some quiet time at home watching a good movie/series. It’s also important to prioritize self-care, getting enough rest, nourishing my body, and making time for loved ones. Recharging helps me come back to my work with renewed energy and creativity.
12. Please share your best marketing tips/ lessons that you’ve learnt in business: I’ve learned that share your passion, showcase your work, and highlight the joy you bring to couples. Utilize social media platforms to share behind the scenes content, testimonials, and sneak peeks. Collaborate with other wedding professionals to expand your reach. Most importantly, engage with your audience, respond to comments, answer questions, and build meaningful connections.
13. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?:In the next 10 years, I envision my brand as a household name in the wedding industry around the world. I see myself expanding my services to include online tutorials, workshops, and even a dance studio and also be recognized internationally. I would love to have a team of talented choreographers who share my passion and vision. I also hope to collaborate with top wedding planners venues and brands and to be a part of thousands of couples’ special days. Ultimately, my goal is to continue spreading love and joy through dance.
14. What has been the most challenging time for your business?: One challenging time was when I had a wedding at a certain venue, and the space had a smaller dance floor. I had to quickly adapt. I communicated closely with the couple so that we can change the set-up of the team, and we worked together to modify the dance. The end result was stunning, and the couple was thrilled. It taught me to be flexible and think on my feet, essential skills for any wedding choreographer.
15. If people want to hire you to be their wedding choreographer, how can they do that?:If you’re interested in booking my wedding choreography services, send me a message through WhatsApp. I will then schedule a consultation to discuss your vision, answer any questions you may have, and tailor a package that suits your needs.
